- Accelerated Program - Finish our 500 hour Massage Therapy Program in as little
as 7 months - and be ready for our 900 hour Advanced Bodywork Program or our
1200 hour Master Bodywork Program.
- Our Teaching Method - we believe massage is truly a "hands on" skill - and is
best learned with practice and repetition. Our method employs five critical
steps: First the student must see the stroke. At the same time, the student must
hear the directions for performing the stroke. Third, the student must feel the
stroke done correctly - and receive that hands-on experience from an experienced
professional. Fourth, the student must practice the stroke on the instructor so
as to receive specific feedback about how to do the stroke. Finally, the student
must practice the stroke on fellow students to perfect the technique. While this
process is very time-consuming HTSMT believes that this method is the most
effective. This process then enables the student to perform each stroke
successfully on the Practicum tests and creates positive self-esteem and
confidence in her/his skills.
- Small Class Sizes - our maximum class size is 9 for all technique classes to
enable each student the individual attention need to be successful.
- Specific Feedback - When each student learns the technique, she/he is given
specific feedback from an experienced professional as how to change and perfect
each stroke and many opportunities to practice each stroke.
- A Variety of Opportunities for Clinical Hours - A variety of settings are
available to our students for their Clinical hours* such as:
- Healing Touch Spa & Salon - work on clients from all over the world, learn how
to give massages to people with diverse and unusual health problems
- Hiawatha Homes - give massages to people living with chronic illnesses
- Madonna Towers - learn how to work with geriatric clientele
- Mentorship - work one-on-one with experienced professionals
- Corporate Massage - give chair massage at conferences, workshops and in the
workplace
- Healing Touch School of Massage Therapy - work on local regular clients who
take advantage of our discounted fees
- Chiropractor - experience what it’s like to give massages in a chiropractor’s
office
- Job Shadow - learn what "a day in the life of" a professional bodyworker is
like
