100 % attendance is expected in all classes.  All curriculum hours missed must be made up prior to graduation.  Absences will be handled in the following manner:

  • First and second absences per class – Student is responsible for all course material and is required to make arrangements with instructor to obtain information and skills missed due to absence.  At the instructor’s discretion a tutorial with the instructor may be required.  There will be a charge of $50.00 per hour charged for make-up sessions with the instructor. (A minimum of $50.00 will be charged.  Missed class time is added to Internship Hours.
  • Third absence – student, instructor and Assistant Director meet to determine a make-up contract.  A tutorial with the instructor will be required.

Promptness is also crucial.  Our philosophy is to help the student learn that promptness is an important habit to develop for good work ethics.  Therefore our policy is that two tardy arrivals and/or early departures equal one absence. More than one half hour of absence per four hours of class in any given class is recorded as missing the entire class period.

If a student believes that the reason for her/his absence is due to extenuating circumstances, it is her/his responsibility to contact the Director within two days of the absence for a possible exception.
